Saving Money as a Student

As a student, there are many ways we can try and save money. We are so prone to spending money and taking the easy way out when we barely have money ourselves. This is an article as much as it is for me and others as I need constant reminders not to spend so much, especially on food.

Buy Easy to Make Food

This may be buying up sandwiches for the week or easy to make oven food. Often, I buy chicken or raw food that I feel I could cook but do not end up cooking. If you know you won’t have time to do it do not buy it. It is honestly not worth the time or the effort to do that.

It may not be super healthy but it may be more healthy than the rubbish and expensive food you buy from fast-food restaurants. It is so easy to order an Uber Eat and that takes out money quickly.

Eating Out Can be Cheaper

If you want to try to make a new type of dish you might find that if it is something you only really going to make once it is not worth trying to make the dish at home. The equipment and some ingredients you will never use again end up taking a lot of the money.

Cashback Credit Card

I underestimated this a lot. You can get up to 5% cashback with an introductory offer from Amex. They have a £10 cashback offer when you sign up with my link http://amex.co.uk/refer/iNTESNlFtA?XLINK=MYCP. It is free to join and it is free. Do not put more on your credit card than you can owe. There are others out there but this is the one I have used.

Ask friends for unwanted things

Ask your roommates or your friends if they have certain things you need. You will be surprised there are a lot of things other people have that they no longer need. Especially as many students move away or buy new sets.

Buy things used on eBay

For new technology products, I always check on eBay for pre-owned products. If you get scammed just tell Paypal and you will get your money back usually. I have gotten absolute bargains doing this and these devices might only be years old and barely used. The value of things goes down quickly.
